Phimpha Wedding Amulet, Luang Pho Phat, Wat Saen Kasem, BE 2529 (1986 CE)

The Phimpha Wedding Amulet (also called Phimpha Phra Chao Taeng Ngarn, or Phra Phutthachao Taeng Ngarn – “The Buddha’s Wedding”) is a sacred powder amulet created by Luang Pho Phat Khemako (Phra Kru Winayathorn), the abbot of Wat Saen Kasem, Nong Chok District, Bangkok (Khlong 13). This is an ancient temple in the Nong Chok area.

Origin of the Phimpha Wedding design The Phimpha Wedding amulet originates from the legend of the Buddha before his enlightenment. When he was still Prince Siddhattha (the original name of the Buddha), he married Princess Phimpha (also known as Princess Yasodhara), his first consort. This event symbolizes marriage, love, fulfillment in finding a life partner, and deep bonding. In the Thai amulet community, particularly the lineage of Luang Pho Phat of Wat Saen Kasem, this legend was used to create a high-level protective amulet representing the Buddha during his lay life (before ordination). Hence it is called “The Buddha’s Wedding” or “Phimpha Wedding.” This symbol also appears on the entrance arches of Wat Saen Kasem, both outside and inside, as a distinctive mark of the temple.

Reasons for creating this mold

  • To emphasize the virtues of metta-maha-saneh (great loving-kindness and supreme charm; considered the highest in some references), helping to find a spouse, attract good fortune, enhance love, strengthen marital/relationship bonds, improve business, and provide protection (แคล้วคลาด).
  • Combined with Phong Itthije (Itthaje powder), an ancient sorcery powder specializing in attraction toward women and great popularity/mercy. Luang Pho Phat personally handled every step: writing the yantra on the Itthije powder, pressing the mold during auspicious times (such as Racha Chok or Mahatthano auspicious hours, or during solar/lunar eclipses to add special power), and reciting the mantra “Phimphā kālo hon ti sambhavo” every time he pressed, to invoke the formula for the amulet.
  • He began creating this series from the early period (around BE 2508 / 1965 CE) and continued for many years, believing it to be an advanced charm technique (similar to traditions in the Mekong region or certain Lao schools), making this amulet the most renowned for metta and finding a partner in Luang Pho Phat’s lineage.

In short summary: The origin comes from the story of Prince Siddhattha’s marriage to Princess Phimpha before his enlightenment, which became a powerful symbol of love and intense charm in Thai amulets, especially those of Wat Saen Kasem.

History and purpose of creation in BE 2529 The Phimpha Wedding amulets of Luang Pho Phat were created from the early period (some sources say starting around BE 2508) and continued over many years. The BE 2529 batch is one of the continuously produced and distributed series. The amulet is based on the legend of Prince Siddhattha marrying Princess Phimpha (Yasodhara), symbolizing marriage, love, and companionship. Luang Pho Phat crafted them with great care, performing every step according to auspicious timing—especially pressing the mold during royal fortune hours or great auspicious times, often during the Buddhist Lent (Khao Phansa), and sometimes during solar or lunar eclipses to enhance special power.

Characteristics of the amulet

  • Material: Sacred powder (powder amulet), color depending on the mixture, dense and firm texture, sharp and clear mold details.
  • Mold: Phimpha Wedding design showing Prince Siddhattha and Princess Phimpha in a wedding/enthronement pose (or couple in marriage ceremony). The back may feature yantra writing with “Na Itthaje,” or plain back/other inscriptions depending on the batch.
  • Size: Standard powder amulet size (small to medium).
  • The BE 2529 batch is considered a mid-period series that remains highly popular; good-condition pieces show very sharp, popping, and clear details.

Consecration ceremony Luang Pho Phat personally performed the main consecration and empowerment. He was a disciple in the lineage of Luang Pho Noi (Wat Sisa Thong) and Luang Pho Luea (Wat Sao Cha Ngok), giving the amulets complete virtues, especially in metta-maha-saneh (supreme charm in some texts), finding a partner, good fortune, business success, enhancing love and relationships, and protection. Some sources rank it as “the ultimate in great charm” in Bangkok, equal to or surpassing some famous rival series.

Current popularity The Phimpha Wedding amulets of Luang Pho Phat from BE 2529 are extremely popular among devotees seeking metta, finding a spouse, singles looking for a partner, and businesspeople—especially young men and women who are still single. Some call it the “Khun Phaen” of Wat Saen Kasem due to its strong power in charm and mercy. Prices for nice-condition pieces vary by individual amulet, ranging from several thousand to low tens of thousands of baht, or higher for rare specimens. Earlier batches (pre-2529) command higher prices, but the 2529 series is still highly sought after for its clear molds and strong virtues.

This amulet is one of the most distinctive sacred objects of Luang Pho Phat and Wat Saen Kasem—unique and unmatched. The symbol still appears on the temple’s entrance arches both outside and inside.
