The Nok Thued Thue (also known as Thep Ratri or Phaya Nok Thued Thue) is a sacred amulet in Thai folklore, particularly in the Isan region and ancient traditions. This legend originates from Luang Pu Sukh at Wat Pak Khlong Makham Thao, Chai Nat Province, who initiated the creation of amulets shaped like the Nok Thued Thue to enhance luck and protect against dangers. Many Isan-line and meditation-line ajarns have inherited this knowledge.

Brief History of Luang Pho Pun
Luang Pho Pun (Phra Khru Siri Rattanarak) was born on Sunday, June 5, B.E. 2492 (currently around 77 years old, with over 50 years in monkhood). He is a monk of the Dhammayuttika Nikaya, following a strict meditation practice lineage, a direct disciple of Luang Pu Man Bhuridatto at Wat Pa Phuritat, and the chief disciple of Luang Pho Phang Jittakutto at Wat Udom Somporn (or Wat Udom Khong Kha Khiri Khet), Khon Kaen Province. He is proficient in both vipassana practice and Isan magical arts, having studied under ajarns throughout the Isan region, making him renowned for sacred amulets such as Hun Payon, takrud, Nang Ratri Sawat, and Nok Thued Thue, which emphasize Buddhist virtues in great charm, evasion from harm, luck, and protection against sorcery.
History of Creating the Nok Thued Thue
Luang Pho Pun created the Nok Thued Thue following the ancient formula of Luang Pu Sukh at Wat Pak Khlong Makham Thao, adapted to the Isan magical arts he had learned. There is no precise record of the creation year, but from auction and worship data, it appears to have been created and distributed starting from around B.E. 2540-2550 onward (such as the baked clay version and the oil-anointed version). The main materials used include:
- Sacred soil from 7 graveyards (soil from 7 cemeteries) or holy soil from mystical places to enhance powers in luck and protection.
- Anointed with phrai oil (oil from corpses or mystical charm oil) to boost virtues in attracting wealth and great charm.
- Hand-inscribed with yantras by Luang Pho Pun himself to consecrate and imbue with power.
Consecration: He used concentration and meditation techniques from the Luang Pu Man lineage, combined with Isan spells, focusing on invoking virtues for “endless consumption,” attracting luck, money, protection against evil, and suitability for those working at night or gambling.
Buddhist Virtues and Worship

- Worship Chant: Recite Namo 3 times, then chant “Kipi Piki, Kipi Piki” (more repetitions are better), then make your wish. It is advisable to offer sacrifices such as rice, fish, frogs, toads, or plain water on full moon nights to enhance power.
