History and Creation Information of Phra Thammachak Tharawadi, Luang Phor To, Wat Sam Ngam, Clay Material, Year 2514

Brief Biography of Luang Phor To Luang Phor To Khongthong (Phra Kru Khongkhasuwanno), birth name To, surname Sam Ngam Noi, born on Monday, the 9th waxing moon of the 7th lunar month, Year of the Rabbit, corresponding to June 15, B.E. 2434, at Ban Sam Ngam, Moo 4, Tambon Sam Ngam, Amphoe Nakhon Chai Si, Nakhon Pathom Province (currently the area of Wat Sam Ngam). He was a renowned guru monk of Nakhon Pathom, highly skilled in powerful magical knowledge, especially creating sacred powders, wan (herbal) powder, ghost bone powder, and clay-based sacred objects or powder amulets. He gained fame from various miracles, such as using ghost bone powder to make kuman thong, and creating highly potent sacred amulets. He served as abbot of Wat Sam Ngam (Wat Aranyikarama) for a long time. He passed away in B.E. 2524 at the age of 90.

Creation Details of Phra Thammachak Tharawadi, Year 2514 The Phra Thammachak Tharawadi (also called Phra Thara sitting on pedestal or Phra Thararawadi) by Luang Phor To, Wat Sam Ngam, was created in B.E. 2514 as an important batch for that year’s sacred objects. Made of ancient-style baked clay (some call it Thararawadi wan clay or mixed with herbal powder), using sacred soil from ancient Dvaravati sites (such as white stone from the ancient Chedi at Muang Tum or Wat Don Yor), blended with sacred powders prepared by Luang Phor himself. Main molds include large mold (larger size, suitable for worship) and small mold (portable). The design depicts the Buddha in the gesture of the first sermon (Dhammachakra mudra), sitting on a pedestal or floating seated on pedestal, with yantra inscriptions or details on the back according to his style.

This year’s creation was a special occasion, commemorating 110 years since the discovery and enshrinement of the white Dvaravati stone (some sources link it to historical events). Luang Phor consecrated them with strong mental power in his traditional method. The quantity was not large, distributed during merit-making events or to faithful disciples. The main blessings are prominent in great charm (metta maha niyom), great wealth (maha lap), great authority (maha amnat), invulnerability (kongkaphan chatri), danger evasion (klaew klaad), protection from harm, and enhancing the wearer’s charisma, especially in luck, business, trade, and prosperity.

The Phra Thammachak Tharawadi clay version from B.E. 2514 is therefore a famous and rare batch of Luang Phor To, highly regarded for its spiritual potency among disciples and collectors of ancient clay amulets.
