This Somdej amulet is one of the earliest and most prominent batches created by Luang Pu Thian (Phra Kru Bowon Thammakit or Phra Kru Bowon Thammakit Pupphadhammo; commonly called Luang Pho Thian by locals) of Wat Bot (วัดโบสถ์), Sam Khok District, Pathum Thani Province. It was made in BE 2506 (1963 CE), a significant year during his abbotship.
History and purpose of creation Created for the sacred rice-stirring ceremony (กวนข้าวทิพย์), the casting of Luang Pu’s statue, and the celebration of his promotion to the ecclesiastical rank of Phra Kru Chao Awat (royal temple abbot level). Pol. Maj. Gen. Charas Theerasarn, the Governor of Pathum Thani at the time, served as chairman or was involved in the event. The batch was produced in limited quantity (some sources say very few, mostly distributed to government officials or close devotees). The purpose was to distribute as blessings and to raise funds for temple restoration or religious activities. This is considered the first series that brought Luang Pu Thian’s name to wider attention in the Pathum Thani amulet community.
Characteristics of the amulet
- Material: Sacred powder (powder amulet), high-quality mixture, dense texture; comes in various powder zones (e.g., wan powder, intense/jazzy powder, or standard powder); color varies with age and storage condition.
- Front mold: 9-tier base Somdej (classic large or principal mold).
- Back: Image of Luang Pu Thian (Luang Pu seated in meditation within a flame-arch frame, or “Luang Pu portrait” back).

Consecration ceremony Luang Pu Thian personally performed the main consecration and empowerment. He was renowned for strong protective power (คงกระพัน), invulnerability (แคล้วคลาด), and life-guardian blessings (some texts say it prevents downfall of fortune or bad luck). The BE 2506 ceremony was a grand event including sacred rice-stirring and holy rituals, making these amulets particularly potent and now very rare.
Current popularity The Somdej 9-Tier with Luang Pu Image Back and Twin Takrut from BE 2506 is regarded as a classic, highly sought-after, and scarce piece among Pathum Thani amulet enthusiasts and collectors of northern/central Isan guru monks. Its virtues are considered very strong (protection, life safeguarding, fortune guardian, invulnerability). As one of the last major batches before Luang Pu Thian’s passing (around BE 2509 / 1966 CE), it commands high demand in niche circles. Rental/bidding prices vary greatly by condition, powder quality, and takrut, ranging from tens of thousands to low hundreds of thousands of baht, or higher for pristine, intense-powder specimens. It is not a mainstream “universal” amulet but highly prized by specialists.
This amulet is an important powerful heritage of Wat Bot and Luang Pu Thian, widely regarded as a “real-experience” sacred object of Pathum Thani Province.
九层须弥座背面师尊像 嵌入双符管 隆普天 波寺 巴吞他尼府 佛历二五零六年（一九六三年）
此尊九层须弥座佛牌是隆普天（帕克鲁波沃塔玛基，或帕克鲁波沃塔玛基·普帕塔摩；当地人常称隆波天）最早且最具代表性的批次之一，由巴吞他尼府三锅县波寺（วัดโบสถ์）创建于佛历二五零六年（一九六三年），当时正值他担任住持的重要时期。
