History of the Creation of Phra Sangkachai (Mahayana Bodhisattva), Luang Pu Tiam, Wat Kasattharathiraj, Year BE 2519 (1976 CE)

This Phra Sangkachai amulet was created by Luang Pu Tiam Siripanno (Phra Wisutthachan Thera), abbot of Wat Kasattharathiraj Worawihan, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, in BE 2519 (1976) to commemorate the occasion of his 6th cycle birthday (72 years old) (born 23 July BE 2447 / 1904 CE). It also received royal grace from His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), who graciously bestowed the temple’s official name and granted an additional ecclesiastical title to Luang Pu Tiam.

Creator and Purpose

  • Main organizer and consecrator → Luang Pu Tiam Siripanno himself oversaw the entire creation and was the chief consecrator.
  • Purpose → To celebrate his 72nd birthday (6th cycle), distributed as royal-bestowed souvenirs/gifts to disciples and devotees, and to raise funds for temple restoration (standard practice for top monks of that era).

Main Materials and Composition

  • Primary material → Sacred powder (phong phutthakhun), available in several colors: black powder, red clay, brown clay (some sources call it “red clay” or “sweet potato black powder”).
  • Key sacred ingredients →
    • Main powder from Luang Pu Tiam’s famous erased chalk powder ritual (ลบผงพิธี), performed according to ancient manuals he mastered.
    • Mixed with powders from other great monks, old broken amulets, yantras, and various sacred materials he had collected throughout his life.
    • Some pieces have a pry-hole at the base or raised back (depending on mold).

Consecration Ceremony

  • Main ritual → Buddha Abhiseka performed primarily by Luang Pu Tiam himself (solo + possibly with other monks; exact list of participating monks is not widely documented, but he was the absolute chief).
  • Year → Strictly BE 2519, coinciding with his 72nd birthday celebration.
  • Highlight → Luang Pu Tiam was nationally renowned as the “God of Takrut” and master of yantra; this Sangkachai therefore carries strong takrut/yantra energy. Believed powers → Great wealth, abundance, extreme metta maha niyom (loving-kindness & popularity), business success, and protection (one of the three deities of fortune alongside Phra Upakrut and Phra Sangkachai).

Rarity and Market Status

  • Considered a rare edition, especially in perfect original condition (black powder and red clay are most popular).
  • Classic Ayutthaya-line powers → Extreme luck, wealth, prosperity + Luang Pu Tiam’s signature kongkraphan & metta from his takrut science.
