History of the Creation of “Phra Pidta Jiew” by Luang Pho Phae, Wat Pikun Thong – Powder Material (Tiger Pattern), Year 2517
The “Phra Pidta Jiew” (also called miniature mold / small mold) in powder material with tiger pattern, created in B.E. 2517 at Wat Pikun Thong, Sing Buri Province, is a sacred amulet made on the occasion of Luang Pho Phae Khemangkaro‘s (Phra Dhammamuni) 70th birthday celebration. He was the former abbot of Wat Pikun Thong and widely revered as the “Deity of the Noi River Basin” as well as a renowned development monk and holy monk of Sing Buri.
Brief History and Purpose of Creation
- Year of Creation and Consecration: B.E. 2517 (coinciding exactly with Luang Pho Phae’s 70th birthday; he was born in B.E. 2447).
- Material: Sacred powder (phong phutthakhun mixed with various holy substances such as incense powder, flower pollen, palm leaves, etc.). The distinctive feature is the tiger pattern (stripe-like or tiger-camouflage pattern), which is characteristic of some of Luang Pho Phae’s powder amulets from the 2510s era (similar to the tiger-pattern powder used in his Somdet Phae 3,000 Years edition in 2512, which incorporated ground old Buddha fragments).
- Mold and Size: Miniature mold (very small size, approximately 1–1.5 cm or smaller than a 1-baht coin, roughly 1 cm wide and 1.2 cm high). The front shows a seated Buddha in diamond posture with eyes closed, sealing the nine orifices. The back typically features Luang Pho Phae’s yantra or sacred script.
- Purpose: Created as a commemorative item for his 70th birthday celebration, distributed to disciples and attendees of the event, and also to raise funds for temple restoration and charitable activities (Luang Pho Phae consistently created amulets to support temple development and help the local community throughout his life). He began creating amulets as early as 2482, and the 2517 editions are considered one of his significant birthday series.
Sacred Power and Popularity
The Phra Pidta Jiew of 2517 in tiger-pattern powder is renowned for invulnerability (klaew klad), strong protection against dangers, great power (maha amnat), great charm and loving-kindness (metta maha niyom), abundance in wealth and fortune (udom laphaphon lae phok khaphon) (typical of Luang Pho Phae’s Phra Pidta series, empowered through intense magical knowledge, sacred scripts, and deep meditative consecration). Devotees believe it was consecrated with great care and meticulous attention, resulting in high sacred efficacy. Many stories from disciples highlight its protective power in perilous situations, enhancement of personal charisma, and attraction of prosperity—provided the wearer maintains strict observance of the five precepts (as emphasized by Luang Pho Phae himself for full manifestation of the amulet’s benefits).
