Brief Biography of Luang Pu Waen Luang Pu Waen Sujinno (Phra Kru Sujinno) was a renowned northern guru monk of Wat Doi Mae Paeng, Tambon Mae Faek, Amphoe San Sai, Chiang Mai Province. Born in B.E. 2447 in Chiang Mai Province, he was a chief disciple of Luang Pu Man Phurithatto and received transmission of Vipassana meditation and supernatural knowledge. He was highly skilled in great charm (metta maha niyom), danger evasion (klaew klaad), invulnerability (kongkaphan chatri), and creating baked clay sacred objects. He was known for his powerful blessings and various miracles. He passed away in B.E. 2520 at the age of 73.
Creation Details of Phra Lue Nai Yak, Clay Material, Year 2516 The Phra Lue Nai Yak (also called Phra Lue Chai Traimas or Giant-Faced Phra Lue Traimas) by Luang Pu Waen, Wat Doi Mae Paeng, was created in B.E. 2516 as one of the early clay batches that he kindly made. It is ancient-style baked clay (some pieces green like jasmine stem, black, red like bodhi leaf, or other colors depending on firing), mixed with sacred powders and holy soil. He created it as a commemorative item for the construction of the monks’ quarters at Wat Chai Sathan, Amphoe Saraphi, Chiang Mai Province, on October 12, B.E. 2516. The design features Phra Lue (hermit or sage figure) with a giant face (large face, prominent fangs, sharp features). The back has yantra inscriptions or details in Lanna style.
The quantity was not large, distributed during merit-making events or to faithful disciples. The main blessings are prominent in danger evasion (klaew klaad), invulnerability (kongkaphan chatri), protection from harm and accidents, defense against black magic and curses, safeguarding from enemies and dangers. There are many recounted experiences in the lines of invulnerability and protection. It also enhances charisma and commanding presence for the wearer.
The clay Phra Lue Nai Yak from B.E. 2516 is therefore an early-period creation of Luang Pu Waen, highly regarded for its spiritual potency and popular among disciples and northern amulet collectors, especially in the aspects of danger evasion and invulnerability.
