พระพิมพ์หลวงพ่อโต (Phra Luang Pho To) บางกระทิง (Bang Krathing) ของหลวงปู่ดู่ พรหมปัญโญ (Luang Pu Due Phromapanyo) วัดสะแก (Wat Sakae) จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา (Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya) เป็นพระที่สร้างโดยถอดแบบ (copy mold) จากพระกรุ (ancient amulet from buried cache) โบราณของวัดบางกระทิง (Wat Bang Krathing) อำเภอเสนา จังหวัดอยุธยา ซึ่งเป็นพระกรุสมัยอยุธยา (Ayutthaya period) อายุกว่า 400 ปี มีชื่อเสียงด้านพุทธคุณมหาอุด (great protection) แคล้วคลาด (invulnerability) และคงกระพันชาตรี (bulletproof/impenetrable)
History of creation by Luang Pu Due
- First creation in B.E. 2507 (1964 CE) (early period, very rare) Luang Pu Due created the Phra Luang Pho To Bang Krathing amulets, starting with clay-fired material (เนื้อดินเผา = clay-fired clay) in various sub-styles (such as small mold, large mold, ear-handle mold, etc.).
- Later developments used sacred powder (ผงพุทธคุณ = sacred powder created and blessed by Luang Pu) mixed with cement (or concrete in some sources), available in both small and large molds.
- This series is a reproduction (ถอดแบบ = molded copy) from the ancient Wat Bang Krathing cache to preserve and distribute to devotees. Luang Pu Due blessed them intensely with meditation, chanting, and strong intention.
- Popular powers according to devotees and collectors include invulnerability (คงกระพัน), evasion of danger (แคล้วคลาด), great charm (เมตตามหานิยม), and excellent for holding during meditation (กำภาวนา = hold and chant). Some use them to make holy water (น้ำมนต์) with reported good results.
Additional info on the original cache (Wat Bang Krathing) The original Phra Luang Pho To from Wat Bang Krathing cache are ancient clay amulets (from Ayutthaya era). The cache was discovered around B.E. 2481 (1938 CE) during temple restoration. It includes meditation pose and subduing Mara pose (back with betel leaf shape). Legends say they are very powerful, but later-made versions (Rattanakosin era) were confirmed by Fine Arts Department as not ancient originals.
