History and Creation of Mae Nang Kwak – Mae Phosop, Luang Phor Choey, Wat Tha Kwai, Clay Material, Year 2468

Brief Biography of Luang Phor Choey Luang Phor Choey (Phra Athikan Choey), also known as Phra Kru Phaisan Watthanathon, was a renowned guru monk from Sing Buri Province. He was born in B.E. 2412 (1869), Year of the Serpent, in Sing Buri. When he was 2 years old, both his parents passed away, so he was raised by his uncle. At the age of 13, he went to live with Luang Phor Daeng of Wat Tha Kwai (now called Wat Sathiarawatthanadit). He was ordained at the age of 20, with Luang Phor Daeng as his preceptor. He possessed great loving-kindness, was humble, content, and had very strong magical power and mind power. He was expert in arcane knowledge, especially creating Mae Nang Kwak amulets and clay sacred objects. He passed away in B.E. 2469 at the age of 57, with 37 rains.

Creation Details of Mae Nang Kwak – Mae Phosop, Clay Material, Year 2468 Mae Nang Kwak – Mae Phosop (also known as Mae Phosri – Mae Phosop or Mae Kho Sri – Mae Kho Sop) by Luang Phor Choey, Wat Tha Kwai, is an ancient paired amulet made of clay mixed with auspicious powders (sacred soil collected by him from various places during his tudong journeys). It was hand-molded by Luang Phor himself in the later period of his life. He began creating this series of amulets around B.E. 2460–2468. The year B.E. 2468 is considered the final batch created before his passing.

The design is a paired amulet (Mae Nang Kwak with one hand raised to beckon wealth, paired with Mae Phosop or Mae Phosri). The style is very ancient, with round faces and full bodies. The surface has a rough clay texture. Some pieces were coated with clear lacquer or left in natural color. The ancient mold is very clear, with little or no yantra on the back. The quantity created was small and distributed to disciples and devotees during temple merit-making events.

The main blessings are prominent in luck, great wealth (maha lap), smooth business and trading, attracting money and fortune, abundance and prosperity, great charm (metta maha niyom), and enhancing attractiveness and charisma. It is especially favored by merchants and traders. There are many well-known miracle stories regarding wealth attraction and prosperity in the ancient line.

Mae Nang Kwak – Mae Phosop in clay from B.E. 2468 is therefore a rare and highly sacred ancient amulet of Luang Phor Choey, Wat Tha Kwai, greatly respected by disciples and collectors of ancient talismans.
