Luang Phor Phueak Wat King Kaew Sothon Powder Amulet (1953, Samut Prakan)

History and Purpose of Creation

The Luang Phor Phueak Wat King Kaew Sothon Powder Amulet B.E. 2496 (1953) is one of the most highly sought-after Thai sacred amulets created by the legendary monk Luang Phor Phueak Pannyatharo of Wat King Kaew, Bang Phli, Samut Prakan Province.
  • Purpose: Created around 1953 to raise funds for the restoration of Wat King Kaew and the construction of the main chapel (Ubosot) and memorial hall.
  • Sacred Connection: Luang Phor Phueak held immense faith and reverence for Luang Phor Sothon (from Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan in Chachoengsao). He intentionally designed this amulet featuring the image of Luang Phor Sothon to combine the miraculous powers of both sacred entities for devotees.

Sacred Materials and Characteristics

  • Sacred Powder Components:
    • 5 Sacred Holy Powders (Phong Puttakhun): Hand-scribed and erased by Luang Phor Phueak according to ancient magical formulas (Phong Pathamang, Phong Itthije, Phong Maharatch, Phong Puttakhun, and Phong Tri-Nisinghe).
    • Ancient Relics: Mixed with crushed holy powders from Somdej Wat Rakang and various antique amulet ruins collected by Luang Phor Phueak and his close disciples.
    • Texture and Appearance: Typically exhibits an off-white, yellowish-white, or banana-pulp texture. Authentic pieces often show natural signs of aging, such as subtle cracks, lacquer traces, or Tang Tree Oil (Tung Oil) surfacing over time.
  • Amulet Design:
    • Front Side: Features the image of Luang Phor Sothon meditating on a Buddha pedestal inside a stylized high-arched triangular frame.
    • Back Side: Mostly flat, often revealing natural hand-pressed textures and age-related contractions typical of 1950s hand-molded sacred powder amulets.

Consecration Ceremony and Sacred Blessings

Luang Phor Phueak conducted intense personal chanting and consecration (Puttaphisek) at Wat King Kaew, alongside grand blessing ceremonies attended by renowned famous monks of that era.
  • Metta Maha Niyom (Charming Mercy & Wealth): Renowned for attracting good fortune, smooth business, and prosperity through Luang Phor Phueak’s consecrated powders.
  • Klaew Klaad (Protection & Safety): Highly venerated for strong protective power, offering safety from accidents and harm through the unified grace of Luang Phor Sothon and Luang Phor Phueak.
