Rian Phra Image Buddha of Wednesday Wat Chinoros B.E.2514-2515

The Coin of Buddha for Each Day of the Week, Reverse Side with 9 Khun Phol from Wat Chinoros (Wat Chinnorosaram Worawihan), Bang Chang Lor Subdistrict, Bangkunnon District, Bangkok, is one of the classic amulets from this historic royal temple. The temple was established by Somdet Phra Maha Samana Chao Krom Phra Paramānujit Chinoros (Prince Wasukri) during the reign of King Rama IV.

From old amulet community sources (including reviews on vintage amulet websites, Facebook groups for Wat Chinoros lineage, and documents from the 2512–2515 era), this series was created during the major Buddha consecration periods at the temple around 2512–2514 BE (some editions extended to 2515 BE). There are multiple designs, but the “Buddha for Each Day of the Week, Reverse 9 Khun Phol” is particularly popular due to its themes of enhancing authority, charisma, and invulnerability.

Creation History

  • Main Creation Year: BE 2514–2515 (some pieces dated 2514, others 2515, due to ongoing consecutive ceremonies).
  • Purpose: Created to raise funds for the major restoration and renovation of the temple and its ordination hall (ubosot). At that time, Wat Chinoros was undergoing large-scale renovations under the supervision of Phra Maha Pradat Naen Na (a key senior monk of the temple), who oversaw the production of several amulet series between 2512–2514, totaling 4 major batches.
  • Coin Design:
    • Obverse Side: Buddha image for the day of the week (7 designs corresponding to Sunday–Saturday). Examples include: Monday (Buddha in the subduing Mara posture), Tuesday (reclining posture), Wednesday (bestowing blessings posture), etc. Material: blackened copper (rom dam), or gold/silver-plated; some have natural black patina.
    • Reverse Side: 9 Khun Phol (images of 9 warrior lords standing in a row, or embossed ancient warrior figures surrounding yantra scripts). Symbolizes commanding speech, protective charisma, strength, and defense against dangers (similar to Khun Phaen/Khun Krai legends, but featuring 9 legendary Thai warriors from ancient tales).
  • Quantity Created: No exact figures available, but considered a niche temple edition with limited mintage, making high-condition pieces rare today.
  • Consecration Ceremony: Major mass Buddha abhisheka (consecration) rituals held multiple times between 2512–2514, with famous guru monks participating, such as Luang Phor Kway (Wat Khosit Aram), Luang Pu Toh (Wat Pradu Chimplee), Luang Phor Phrom (Wat Chong Kae), Luang Phor Ngoen (Wat Don Yai Hom), and other elders—totaling up to 108 monks in some sessions (similar to the temple’s famous 2512 series known for strong spiritual power). The rituals were lengthy and powerful, with blessings focused on invulnerability, bullet/knife protection, great charm (metta mahaniyom), persuasive speech (people who wear it often report better negotiations, successful sales, and protection from enemies).

Spiritual Powers and Experiences

This series is highly favored among “day-of-birth Buddha” collectors because it boosts personal destiny according to one’s birth day, while the 9 Khun Phol reverse enhances warrior-like charisma (protection from evil, dominance over others). Many old accounts mention wearers experiencing recovery from illness, escaping dangers, and improved business luck.
